My friends at DelCor Technology Solutions have kicked off their 15th Annual .org Community Food Drive to support the Capital Area Food Bank. Everyone in the association and nonprofit community is encouraged to donate to this digital food drive which runs through June 21. Best of all, every $1 provides 2.5 meals. Learn more about the food drive, participating teams and how to contribute on DelCor’s food drive page.

Long ago I read an article by Bob Safian, Fast Company’s editor, in which he said the most critical skill for the 21st century is the ability to learn new skills. WBT Systems came up with a list of ten future work skills that associations should consider adding to their professional development programs. I’m looking forward to freestyling.

Anticipating a possible airplane ban on laptops and tablets, Your Nerdy Best Friend, Beth Ziesenis, has been experimenting with using only her phone to work while in flight. Check out her favorite apps and accessories for mobile work.

In some offices, meetings are out of control. The worst are Monday morning meetings—an insane misuse of time that should be devoted to preparing for and thinking about the week ahead. I love this idea from Elizabeth Grace Saunders at Harvard Business Review: establish a meeting-free day.

If you’re getting ready to select a new association management system, check out this software evaluation checklist from Aptify. It’s aimed at the IT department but I believe anyone on the selection project’s core team should take a look. Many of the criteria also apply to other types of technology too.

Because I wasn’t getting home until late last night from AMS Fest, I had to upload this post on Monday and may have missed webinars that were announced later. Please add any others to the comments.

If your organization has a webinar scheduled in the near future, please send me the link. I’ll be happy to feature it as long as it’s not too product-centric.
