Association Brain Food: 10.7.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

boardwalk through a maritme forest – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityBecause I’m away next week on a hiking vacation in South Dakota, I’m not publishing Association Brain Food on Friday, October 14. This edition includes all the free events I could find for the next two weeks. I’ll be back with more on Friday, October 21.

Jargon-busting. Because words are my trade, I’m super aware of how people use them. I know I’m not the only one. Remember all the groans when someone said “unprecedented times” during the pandemic? WBT Systems explains why business jargon isn’t a joking matter, what effect it has on the people and associations who use it, and which terms are especially troublesome.

Workforce model decision. Many organizations are witnessing a disconnect between leaders and employees about whether to become or remain a remote, hybrid, or traditional workplace. Before deciding, Achurch Consulting suggests you discuss and agree upon organizational values together—executives, managers, and staff. They also identify the factors you should consider before choosing a workplace model.

AMS implementation workload. No one tells you about all the work your team must take on when implementing a new AMS—which is why this new guide from Ellipsis Partners is a godsend. They describe nine responsibilities you should be aware of and prepare for. It’s much better to get this news well before your project begins so you can figure out how to juggle these tasks with your regular workload.

Revisiting membership practices. Don’t assume the membership recruitment, engagement, and retention practices that worked pre-pandemic will continue to work as well now. Fionta suggests ways to improve membership marketing, attract younger members, look beyond membership, communicate value, and think about the future differently.

Instructor-led education. Adult learning principles need more attention in the association community. Too many associations deliver—and too many attendees settle for—mediocre, ineffective educational experiences. On the Event Garde blog, Tracy Koenig-Poches suggests you design instructor-led learning experiences with the millennial in mind, which will also satisfy the older learner too. She provides several instructional strategies to keep in mind when developing educational events and programs.

Year-round attendee community. Associations put a ton of effort into planning, promoting and hosting conferences, then do little to keep attendees connected as a community and to the association after the event is over. What a missed opportunity! Event Mobi explains how to build a year-round community and content hub for attendees.

The turd on the table. That’s much more descriptive than “the elephant in the room,” isn’t it? Rishad Tobaccowala says a “combination of hubris, incestuous thinking and improperly aligned incentives” causes organizations to be their own worst enemy, resulting in missed opportunities, mismanagement, and dysfunctional cultures. If only they called out the turd on the table. He describes the many varieties of turds, why we don’t address them, and how to cultivate a culture of turd-slayers.

Quick hits

Have you heard of MOLO—more of/less of? (Mary Byers, CAE)

The chief hype officer: the problem with the Chief Marketing Officer’s job description. (Seth Godin)

Open the U.S. skies! Why domestic air travel is limited to U.S. airlines and how we, the people, lose out on that deal. (Alex Tabarrok, Marginal Revolution)

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout. Due to leftovers and a Hurricane Ian-induced power outage, I don’t have much to share this week.

I defrosted two pounds of ground lamb and asked Jim if he had any requests. Lamb stroganoff! I adapted my recipe from Fine Cooking, which is no longer published, but found the same recipe on another site. However, I make this with two pounds of ground lamb instead of chicken. I go heavy on the mushrooms and sometimes add eggplant too. I increase the rest of the ingredients to match the increase in meat, mushrooms and eggplant. I use onion instead of shallot, add smoked paprika, cayenne and Worcestershire sauce, and omit the tomato, but I can see how that would be good. Serve over egg noodles, macaroni or pasta.

Italian broccoli salad is a great potluck dish. Mine was intended for a neighbor’s party that was postponed because of the power outage. I add salami to this dish and increase some of the other ingredients, like the olives, pepperoncini and provolone. Based on a suggestion in the comments, I make an oregano dressing from Smitten Kitchen instead of the one in the NYT recipe. We like heating up this salad too—sprinkle with parmesan if you do.

This is an ideal time to showcase your written communication skills to get the job. More info/register.

Association Brain Food: 9.30.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

sunlight filtering through a forest of tall pines – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityEducation marketing/sales. Seth Godin said, “People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories, and magic.” WBT Systems examines what learners are really buying and explains how to apply what Godin’s describing to the way you market and sell your association’s educational programs.

Member/customer engagement. Many associations use conversational engagement to draw people into relevant conversations, identify their goals or needs, and respond appropriately—at scale, not individually. PropFuel describes why and how this innovative approach to communicating and engaging with members and customers is so successful.

Growth mindset. I still remember the moment years ago while reading Carol Dweck’s book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, when I realized with horror, I had a fixed, not growth, mindset. It can’t be! But my past showed otherwise. Thankfully, awareness is the first step to change. What about you and your colleagues? At Trade Show News Network, Rachel Wimberly says event planners need a growth mindset now more than ever. Time to check in with yourself and your team to see if you need an attitude adjustment.

Engaging with busy members. Amanda Kaiser says, “Members don’t have the time to devote to their association anymore.” They’re too busy keeping up with the demands of their professional and personal responsibilities. She has a strategy for tackling this problem, but unfortunately the cohort she’s hosting with the Associations Societies Alliance started yesterday. Oops. You should still read her post and check out the cohort for next time.

AMS (r)evolution. Empowered Margins sat down with 70 developers to get their thoughts on all things AMS, such as integration, APIs, security, ecommerce, data visualization, and more. They explain how these factors affect the member experience, how the AMS market is changing, and what you should look for in a new AMS.

A true hero. The whole world should celebrate Petrov Day on September 26—it’s in my calendar now thanks to Alex Tabarrok at Marginal Revolution. The courageous Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov’s “calm actions and general humanity helped to prevent a nuclear war on September 26th, 1983.” I hope Russian and American politicians and military heed his example should that day ever come. It enrages me when people talk about “limited nuclear warfare.” There is no such thing, only mutually assured destruction.

Newsletter engagement. Side note: I subscribe to a ridiculous number of newsletters, but I always open Marginal Revolution because I know it contains only two short posts. It’s an easy open, easy click if I’m interested, and easy delete. Something to remember if you want to increase your email engagement rates—although one person’s experience means nothing, always test.

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

I often must resist the temptation to enhance my fish, when, as fresh as it is, it really doesn’t need much. I could have simply baked black drum fillets with salt, lemon, and a little butter, but I couldn’t help myself and had to add the red New Mexico chile powder I just bought. On the side, pearl couscous made with onion, garlic, chicken broth, and basil, along with roasted broccoli and orange cauliflower with red onion and garlic.

Comfort food Friday featured blackened catfish, cheesy grits, and leftover veg.

I was in the mood for southwestern on Sunday, so I made a shrimp enchiladas verde recipe but with flounder instead. Since I had 1-1/2 pounds of flounder, I increased all the ingredients and started by pan-frying the fish. My vegetable mix included onion, poblano, red bell, jalapeño, garlic, and corn. But they weren’t really enchiladas, more like lasagna, since I layered the tortillas on the bottom of the baking dish, then spread salsa on top, then the fish mixture, another layer of tortillas, the rest of the fish mixture, a salsa/cream mix, and, finally, cheese. On the side, a sautéed vegetable medley featuring asparagus, carrot, zucchini, broccoli stem, onion, basil, and garlic chives.

Association Brain Food: 9.23.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

Buckskin Gulch trail in southern Utah, one of the longest, coolest hikes I've ever done – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityWorkplace trends. Please take 3-5 minutes to participate in the 2022 State of the Workplace Pulse Survey conducted by Achurch Consulting. Its goal is to create a snapshot of current remote and hybrid workplace trends, in particular workforce models (e.g., remote, in-office, or hybrid), office space, leaders’ greatest workplace concerns, and overall satisfaction and perceptions.

Education program development. When developing a new educational program, WBT Systems suggests using a learning strategy canvas because it helps staff, volunteer SMEs, committee members, and others stay aligned during planning discussions and reminds everyone involved where you’re going and how you will get there.

Return-to-office leadership/staff disconnect. If your workforce model is a touchy issue between leadership and staff, Achurch Consulting says you need to address this disconnect right away or it will erode your culture and cause employees to disengage or quit. They share a FACTS-based approach for discussing and resolving this issue—a framework for understanding priorities and values, many of which might have changed during the pandemic.

Membership formulas. If you’re new to membership, GrowthZone’s explainer on membership calculations will sure come in handy. No more struggling over retention, lifetime value, acquisition cost, or other need-to-know numbers.

Communities of practice. In a survey, members of the American Association of School Librarians said informal networking and learning was a high priority, so the association launched online Communities of Practice. Lisa Boylan at Associations Now describes how they work and why they’re effective.

Hiring lifelong learners. At Harvard Business Review, Marc Zao-Sanders says the capability and much of the value of a company is a function of the collective skills of its workforce, which is why you need to know how to identify lifelong learners when you’re hiring.

Employee screening. You don’t want to regret not doing your due diligence when hiring an employee. What if they end up behaving in ways that intimidate, insult, or discriminate against other employees? If you can’t afford to outsource this task, a new guide from Crimcheck for Associations shares how to do a proper, ethical, and fair social media screening on potential hires.

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

Wow—that’s what we said after a spoonful of this poblano cream sauce. Instead of chicken, I poured this nectar over triggerfish fillets before baking them. I ended up with way too much sauce for one pound of fish but didn’t care. Instead of saving half the poblano for a garnish, I added it all to the blender and suggest you do the same.

On the side, a summer standard: zucchini and summer squash pesto with mushrooms, red bell, onion, jalapeño, broccoli stem, and parmesan.

Another green dinner with an “instead”… instead of making green lightning shrimp, I made it with bluefish. On the side, deluxe creamed greens, one of our favorites. My version this time included collards, chard (use the stems too), and arugula. I didn’t feel like buying milk just for this recipe so I compromised with half and half.

Association Brain Food: 9.16.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

scenic view of mountain valley from a lake – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityMembership tiers. MemberSuite suggests nine ideas for new membership tiers that might be a good fit for your association and market. What always worked may no longer be appealing to today’s professionals.

Continuing medical education (CME). When the pandemic hit, the Oklahoma State Medical Association offered free CME programs to physicians all over the country. They knew their old learning management system had issues, but the need for a change became painfully obvious when support calls overwhelmed staff. WBT Systems shares seven ways OSMA and its members and customers benefited from a new LMS.

Future-ready association. Impexium sets the bar for what an association management system (AMS) should do for your association, essentially, help you prepare for what’s next by increasing your association’s digital maturity. You could use this guide as an AMS audit or selection checklist. For example, does your AMS allow all users, regardless of technical ability, to analyze and act upon data, and automate workflows? I also like the idea of no-code or low-code AMS technology that reduces costs by eliminating traditional development efforts.

Presenter training. Leading Learning is offering associations a new mini-course to help presenters and instructors deliver effective learning experiences, you know, the ones that actually help learners gain and apply new knowledge and skills. Jump on this.

Leadership Spanx. Every leader needs support along the way, what Dean West at Association Laboratory calls “the Spanx of your success… an invisible professional undergarment that makes you look and perform better.” He describes the three elements that hold up this personal leadership infrastructure.

Member and community engagement. Mobilize Networks offers “enlightened and informed engagement strategies” that reimagine the member journey. Their advice will help you “reconnect to the very human needs the organization was designed to meet in the first place.” They describe the elements of the new member journey: what you need to do and what members need to experience, the three pillars of enlightened member engagement, and new community engagement benchmarks.

Membership value proposition. Christine Saunders at Halmyre shares advice for developing a strong value proposition, which is especially difficult for associations because you “feel the pull from many audiences, and so many ways to provide support to members.” She admits the value prop process is boring but necessary for getting perspective and objectivity, and putting the voice of your members at the center of your decisions.

Employee sense of community. At Harvard Business Review, Christine Porath and Carla Piñeyro Sublett share survey results about people’s sense of community at work before and since the pandemic. No surprise, it’s declined, but they offer advice on building a sense of community within a remote team.

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

I like the Tajín idea (the Mexican chile/lime spice blend) but it tastes processed to me. My brother made us a much better blend for Christmas, but he’s not selling, so use what you find or make your own for this Tajín grilled (or baked) chicken (or fish) recipe. I substituted tilefish for chicken thighs and only needed half the recipe for one pound of fish. It wasn’t as spicy as I expected, even with all that chipotle, but it was tasty.

On the side, roasted summer squash with garlic and parmesan—delicious. I’ll make this again soon, perhaps adding pesto next time. I used a mix of dried basil, oregano and parsley for the Italian seasoning and sliced the garlic instead of leaving it in chunks.

The next night, amberjack fillets baked with smoky red chimichurri. Again, I only needed half the recipe for one pound of fish. I put the leftover chimichurri on a fried egg and avocado sandwich—warning, garlic breath.

We loved this new recipe: pan-seared salmon with sweet tahini sauce. I served couscous on the side, along with sautéed broccoli and carrots.

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

view of Masonboro Island (NC) from the shore – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityProduct development. Inspired and informed by a session at ASAE Annual, WBT Systems describes a product development cycle you can use for educational programs. They also share details about an exercise they did during the session that will help you practice and understand the steps of the cycle.

Metaverse. Tim O’Reilly says the metaverse is not a place to visit. Rather, it’s a communications medium. “The occasion is more the point than the place.” He writes about the apps helping him develop a vision for the metaverse, the need for interoperability in the metaverse, and his hope that it goes beyond just being a communications medium.

Association podcasts. Launching a podcast isn’t as intimidating as it used to be, thanks to the resources and people who can help you get started. Association Briefings explains how podcasts benefit associations and their audience, provides tips for starting an association podcast, and reviews the planning process and issues to consider before you dive in.

Value proposition. It’d stink to work for an association whose value proposition isn’t as good as you think it is or even what you think it is. But if you do, Christine Saunders of Halymre writes on the Event Garde blog about the dos and don’ts of coming up with a better value proposition.

Lossy communication. Love that word choice. Mandy Brown explains how to mitigate “inevitable and unavoidable” signal loss when communicating. She suggests habits to help you minimize “lossiness” and encourage generative communication.

LMS-AMS integration. Blue Sky eLearn shares a helpful video that demystifies LMS-AMS integration. They cover integration jargon, functions (like Single Sign-On, eCommerce and writeback), benefits and pitfalls.

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

Last weekend, we spent time with our niece and her family, who live near the water just north of Carolina Beach. At low tide, we went crabbing in the marshy sound at the end of her street—even at night with some super cool homemade underwater light sticks—and, at high tide, we boated over to undeveloped Masonboro Island to hang out for a few hours on the beach. For these fall weekends together, I always make shrimp with linguine. It’s pretty simple: onion, orange bell pepper, garlic, tomatoes, white wine, shrimp broth (heads are a must) and basil—lots of butter too. The more shrimp broth you add and let reduce, the better it gets.

Back at home, we had blackened vermilion snapper with green beans on the side.

Of those considering new opportunities, 53% want to change sectors entirely, and with a third of professionals wanting industry-specific help, the importance of associations has never been clearer. Hear what The Great Resignation will look like in 2023, why employers are experiencing a talent shortage, and where associations can take the lead. 1 CAE credit. More info/register.

Association Brain Food: 9.2.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

sandpiper – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityManager training. Bad bosses are a leading contributor to the Great Resignation (or Transition). Because managers are facing a host of new issues and challenges in the post-pandemic workplace, WBT Systems says associations can help industry employers and employees by offering manager training programs. Their post also provides advice on essential topics and marketing for these programs.

Sponsorship strategy. In this comprehensive guide to tiered and à la carte sponsorship models for in-person, virtual and hybrid events, EventMobi describes how to price, sell and deliver sponsorships, measure ROI, and craft a post-event report for corporate partners.

Virtual networking discussions. At Associations Now, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Jack Coursen tells Rasheeda Childress how staff-guided conversations engage virtual coffee session attendees by giving them a chance to connect with peers and earn CE credits.

Email open rates. Andy Crestodina at Orbit Media Studios shares 13 excellent tips for increasing your email open rates along with examples showing you how it’s done. Sure, clicks matter most but first you’ve got to get them to open your email.

Online learning tips. In honor of the back-to-school season, WBT Systems offers advice for anyone taking an online course—tips you can share with your members. They cover everything from time management, procrastination, distraction and motivation to accountability and learning habits.

Membership value of an AMS. Nimble AMS describes how an AMS helps membership directors better understand members, anticipate their needs, and deliver an optimal online experience and personalized communications and content. If your AMS doesn’t help you recruit, engage and retain members, you better start shopping for a new one.

Quick hits

Why thinking hard wears you out. (Diana Kwon, Scientific American)

Four clues to help you identify a prospective employee with real emotional intelligence. (Marcel Schwantes, Inc.)

Why virtue signaling isn’t the same as virtue—and actually furthers the partisan divide. (Christopher Beem, The Conversation)

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

If you want to treat yourself, try this Mexican shrimp cocktail. It’s like a cross between regular shrimp cocktail and gazpacho but more satisfying. On the side, we had quesadillas filled with mushroom, onion, red bell pepper, poblano, jalapeño, smoked paprika, cilantro and ‘quesadilla’ cheese. I also made calabacitas—a southwestern vegetable sauté of zucchini, yellow squash, corn, tomatoes, poblano, jalapeño, garlic and fresh oregano.

We had one of our favorites a few other nights: southern pan-friend catfish and speckled trout. You’ve seen this one here before: dredge the fillets in flour, then in egg mixed with a lot of hot sauce, and then cornmeal and panko with ancho chile powder. On the side, creamed collards with mushrooms, so good.

I tried a new sauce for Spanish mackerel: hot sauce vinaigrette—3 tablespoons hot sauce, 2 tablespoons lime juice and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil mixed with cilantro and chives. The next night, an old regular—blackened black drum fillets.

Association Brain Food: 8.19.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

pretty nature scene – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityBecause I’m away next week at the ASAE Annual Meeting and elsewhere, I’m not publishing Association Brain Food on Friday, August 26. This edition includes all the free events I could find for the next two weeks. I’ll be back with more on Friday, September 2.

Webinars. After a few years of virtual-everything, our tolerance for the traditional webinar format is withering away. WBT Systems offers suggestions for producing webinars that provide a learning experience worth your attendees’ time and attention.

Grassroots advocacy. Quorum lays out the steps to building a grassroots advocacy program from scratch. They describe the planning and buy-in you need to get started and what you should think about and do before your first campaign.

AMS implementation workload. No one tells you about all the work your team has to take on when implementing a new AMS—which is why this new guide from Ellipsis Partners is a godsend. They describe nine responsibilities you should be aware of and prepare for. It’s much better to get this news well before your project begins so you can figure out how to juggle these tasks with your regular workload.

Hybrid work myths. Achurch Consulting keeps hearing people spouting these three myths or assumptions about hybrid work. Make sure you (and your association’s leadership) aren’t falling for any of them.

AMS selection. You know how I can’t resist a good AMS read. Here’s another from .orgCommunity and Impexium. They explain how the AMS has evolved from the monster jack-of-all-trades to a simpler, more flexible breed of AMS that plays well with all the other software in your tech stack. If a new AMS is in your future, read about the factors you should consider when comparing software—and then the Ellipsis guide will help you prepare for implementation.

Recruiting young members. The latest MGI report disclosed how poorly associations are doing with young member recruitment. Hum explains why young professionals are just not into your association.

Quick hits

What is quiet quitting and why is Gen Z doing it? (Cloey Callahan, Worklife News)

Why the cost of a restaurant meal has soared—you really should read this if you ever dine out. (New York Times, no paywall)

Watch my future dinner float by on the Frying Pan Tower underwater cam.

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

We loved this cumin-roasted yellowfin tuna with cilantro sauce. The original recipe called for salmon, but my fish store doesn’t sell it because salmon doesn’t live in NC waters. I omitted the oil, making it a dry rub, and used lime juice instead of vinegar. Excellent and easy.

On the side, leftover southwest succotash—you can see the ingredients in last week’s post.

I’m down to about half a bottle of ouzo thanks to substituting it for white wine in Mediterranean recipes. This time, I winged it with amberjack fillets, adding onion, fennel, garlic, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, capers, bay leaves, lemon juice, ouzo and fresh oregano. Delicious. On the side, roasted broccoli with red onion and garlic powder.

With leftover buttermilk in the frig, I found an old favorite: southwest buttermilk baked chicken thighs, another easy one. I adapted the original recipe by adjusting the spice amounts, using garlic powder and kosher salt instead of garlic salt, adding dried oregano and sprinkling the dish with fresh cilantro after it comes out of the oven.

On the side, veggie pesto (freshly made pesto from a basil harvest) with zucchini, onion, mushrooms, poblano, red bell, jalapeño and parmesan.

Association Brain Food: 8.12.22

The weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association community…

close-up view through a field of corn – inspiration for my weekly list of free educational events and resources for the association communityMembership model. It’s the right time to reevaluate your association’s membership model, says MemberSuite, because members (and their employers) most likely have different expectations, preferences and needs after two years of economic and pandemic-induced change.

Flipped learning at Annual. WBT Systems suggests an unofficial (not ASAE-endorsed) flipped learning experience for ASAE Annual attendees. After explaining the benefits of flipped learning, they offer a list of blog posts to read for background or perspective before attending four Annual sessions.

AMS (r)evolution. Empowered Margins sat down with 70 developers to get their thoughts on all things AMS, such as integration, APIs, security, eCommerce, data visualization, and more. They explain how these factors affect the member experience, how the AMS market is changing and what you should look for in a new AMS.

Future-proofing. Chris Vaughan at Sequence Consulting shares ten strategies for preparing your association for the future. Some of my favorites: cranking up content, reinventing events, enhancing networking, evaluating capabilities and scenario planning.

Association journals. Open access is disrupting the traditional journal business, which is why Gregory Bologna, CAE, writes at Association Ventures Playbook about climbing down from the ivory tower and rethinking digital publication opportunities.

Member/customer engagement. Many associations are using conversational engagement to draw people into relevant conversations, identify their goals or needs, and respond appropriately—at scale, not individually. PropFuel describes why and how this innovative approach to communicating and engaging with members and customers is so successful.

Board director traits. Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta shares a recap of a webinar he attended on the seven surprising traits of future board directors. These traits would be useful when screening prospective hires too.

Consulting. Adrian Segar at Conferences That Work shares advice for attracting great consulting clients—advice that applies to other professional services too. This article would be useful for those starting out and perhaps even those who are already some years in.

Opportunity-spotting. Amy Wilkinson at Entrepreneur describes three ways entrepreneurs came up with new ideas during the pandemic. All of them are ripe for stealing by your association.

Quick hits

Create a Project Management Lite survival guide for your association. (Nia Delmast, Cimatri)

Why a time zone recruiting strategy has become the latest hiring trend. (Lindsey Galloway, Chief)

Navigating rising AV costs for events. (Casey Gale, PCMA)

Four helpful iPhone and Android tricks you may not know about. (J. D. Biersdorfer, New York Times)

Good eats

Skip down to the list of free educational events if you prefer takeout.

We loved these taco zucchini boats, although my zucchini weren’t that enormous, so, after stuffing the squash, half the filling remained. I added red bell pepper, poblano pepper, jalapeno pepper and corn to the filling, and served the ‘boats’ with a sprinkling of cilantro and hot sauce. Before storing the leftover filling in the freezer, I enjoyed it on tomato slices, topped with avocado and hot sauce, a fantastic lunch.

On the side, one of my inventions: southwest succotash with zucchini, onion, poblano, red bell, green bell, jalapeno, garlic, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, grape tomatoes, corn, black beans, oregano and cilantro. Pretty darn good!

Another night, we had the old striped mullet standard: dredge the fillets in flour with garlic powder and salt, then in a buttermilk/hot sauce combo, and finally in a mix of cornmeal, panko and ancho chile powder before pan-frying. Squeeze lemon juice all over as you drain the fillets on paper towels.

Here are the educational events scheduled for next week. If you have a free webinar or event coming up, please send me the link by Wednesday afternoon the week before it’s scheduled. I’ll be happy to feature it as long as it’s not too product-centric.
